October 3, 2007, 12:02 am : DJing at two Funder Strikes parties in October
As is traditional, I’m doing my usual pop/ dance DJing at the next two Funder Strikes nights in Leeds. I’m also organising these two Funders, although in realit the club night is totally DIY and collectively run, as is the venue.
Details as follows:
FUNDER STRIKES 11 - FRIDAY OCTOBER 19TH
***FUTURE STRIKES***
At the Commonplace, Wharf Street, Leeds City Centre (behind the Corn Exchange)
A birthday party for Circuit, Dicko, Gwen and anyone else who wishes to join the fun. The fancy dress theme is ?¢‚ǨÀúThe Future?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ please, so get creative with the bacofoil and silver leggings. Playing music for your lugholes will be:
Trouble Vs Glue - from Italy. They combine drums and geetar with samples and drum machine and cheap wonky keyboards that go ERK ERK. Dance time. They remind me a bit of Les Georges Leningrad and they have previously supported Partyline in Leeds.

Tigers! - Four grown men in tigerprint undies, hanging out in your paddling pool. They make a jerky, fast, confusing racket and they are great.

Funder DJs incl circuit’s usual stupid techno set!
Delicious Mojitos!
Death-defying dance routines!

October 2, 2007, 8:31 pm : Berlin moodswings
Just back from a little Berlin birthday bash - unfortunately we didn’t play at Birthday Party as we’d half planned to. It was my actual birthday, and the day before I had to fly home, so I thought it might have been more stress than fun. I did attend, though, and would heartily recommend it if you are fortunate enough find yourself in the city for the next one. Anyone have any contacts or a room for rent in BLN, starting early 08? Drop me an email (circuit at printed-circuit dot net) or leave a comment. Oh yeah, and naturally I’m looking for suitable employment and I hear it’s not easy for English speakers to find in Germany.
After a slew of Leeds gigs, it’s likely PC will go into hibernation over the winter as Andrew’s off on his holidays next month, and I’ve got a bit of film work to concentrate on. I’ve got enough songs for the third album but I don’t feel that they’re properly finished, so I’m going to delay the release until I’m happier with it all and the documentary is well underway. It does have a title and tentative artwork plans so it WILL exist, just maybe not this side of Christmas. We have plans to make another video for the CD-Extra and that’ll be way more pro this time around (and worth waiting for). It may come out via Darla, although I’d be happy if a British or German label picked it up, we shall see.
OK, I’ve got a stinking cold from the harsh Berlin rains so I’ll leave it here. If you’ve not already switched to the new mailing list, PLEASE do so ASAP so I can retire the old one.
